The Boberg HPG Mission Donor System is designed to
"Help People Give". It keeps track of donors and their
gifts, and works together with any Word-Processing
program, such as Microsoft Word or WordPerfect, to
print receipts. It is built on the CADS data-base
system, so you have access to all your data.
You use your Word Processor to revise the format of
your receipt or receipt-letter whenever you wish.
As gifts are received from donors, the information
is entered into the computer. When it's time to
print a batch of receipts, the information is merged
into the receipt and/or receipt-letter as it is printed
by the Word Processor.
The amounts received for each account are totalled
so that they can be entered or imported into your
accounting system.
HPG does not do accounting. It interfaces with regular accounting systems, such as "Peachtree".

The details of a donor's giving can be viewed
when desired on the computer screen or printed
out. Mailing labels can be selected according to
any information in the donor files. They can be
sorted according to postoffice guidelines for bulk-
mail.
Letters can be generated for names selected according
to information in the files, incorporating data from
the files.
It is adaptable; you can implement only the
features you wish. You can develop individualized
reports, utilizing the "database" features.
You can use any kind of IBM-compatible personal
computer or a network, like Novell or LANtastic.
The storage capacity of the machine will determine
the size of the files which can be handled (up to a
maximum of 32,000 records in each file). The
"database" function gives you the power to create
your own files for various purposes, entering,
storing and using information.
Passwords can be used to limit access and to
determine whether user may use or change data.
The HPG system has features especially suited to
mission organizations:
1- You can segment your donor list by various
combinations of criteria, producing labels or
reports, or exporting selected information to
spreadsheets or other programs.
2- Mailing labels, lists, or merge-letter data for
individual missionaries can be prepared from the
master donor list. HPG will sort the labels according
to the USPS requirements for low bulk-mail rates.
3- During entry of receipts, new donors can be
added to the donor file. Data entry is simplified by
defaults for the amount and designation of the
most recent gift, receipt number, batch date, and
balance. There may be up to 9 distributions for
each gift, each with the amount, account, designation
code, and description.
4- For each donor, the system automatically tracks
the total amount and largest gift for this year and
the previous two years, and the number of gifts
this year. Giving-details can be retained for several
years, depending on disk storage space.
5- Additional comments regarding a donor can be
kept in the "extra-page" file.
6- A report is available for each missionary or
project listing donations received for the month,
with donor's name, address, and gift details.
Lapsing donors can be reported according to the
donor's primary interest.
To qualified missions or churches there is no
charge for the programs and no charge for conversion
of your current data or for technical support.
If necessary, when problems arise, your computer
can dial our computer so we can do remote diagnosis
(this requires the purchase of the "pcAnywhere"
program). There is no charge for telephone support
or for program upgrades, which are provided regularly.
The program is available to mission organizations and missionaries and
churches without charge from Helps International Ministries
HPG Software Dept.
